What is HvH?
HvH (Hacker vs Hacker) are custom CS2 matches where all players use cheats. The aim is to "resolve" the opponent's cheat and win with better cheat settings. HvH is a completely different experience from regular matchmaking — it's not a battle of player skill, but cheat configuration and software quality.
What is Anti-Aim?
Anti-aim is a feature that manipulates your character model's perspective so that the opposing party's aimbot cannot aim you correctly. In normal play, the direction your character is facing is compatible with the hitbox. Anti-aim disrupts this harmony: When the model is looking in another direction, your real angle is different.
How Does Desync Work?
In CS2, the server syncs the player's exact torso angle. However, the animation system allows a certain angle difference between the player's body and feet (body yaw). Anti-aim maximizes this angle difference, ensuring that the hitbox is in a different position than the visible model. The enemy aimbot aims at the model, but the bullets do not hit the hitbox.
What is Resolver?
Resolver is the algorithm that tries to solve the opponent's anti-aim. It estimates the enemy's true angle and directs the aimbot there. Modern resolvers use these methods:
1. Animation-based: Analyzes foot/body animations
2. Brute-force: Tries possible angles in turn
3. History-based: Remembers patterns from previous rounds
4. AI-based: Angle prediction with machine learning
Getting Started with HvH
Here's what you need to know if you want to play HvH:
- You need private servers (community server or private lobby)
- Requires rage config — legit settings don't work in HvH
- Barebones (weapon/armor/utility limited) mods are popular
- Scout and Auto-sniper are the most effective weapons in HvH
- The result largely depends on the resolver quality of the cheat
