What is CS2 Aim Smoothing? Guide for Natural Looking Aimbot
What is aim smoothing in CS2 cheats and why does it matter? Bézier curves, humanization, and the techniques behind natural-looking aimbot movement explained.
What Is Aim Smoothing?
Aim smoothing is the algorithm an aimbot uses to ease the crosshair onto a target. Without smoothing, the aimbot snaps to the target instantly — a robotic, easily detectable movement. With smoothing, the crosshair travels toward the target along a human-like curve. The higher the value, the slower and more natural the movement.
Why Does It Matter?
Overwatch investigators look at crosshair movement first. A "snap" — the crosshair instantly jumping from one point to another — is the biggest red flag there is. Even pro players aim at a target with a curved motion; smoothing mimics that natural curve.
Types of Algorithms
Different smoothing algorithms produce different movement patterns:
CSCodep's Humanization System
CSCodep goes beyond basic smoothing with its "Humanization" system. It runs on a model trained on real pro players' aim data. Its features:
- Micro-correction: Adds small correction movements as the crosshair nears the target
- Overshoot: Sometimes slightly overshoots the target and pulls back — humans do this too
- Acceleration profile: Mouse speed changes based on distance
- Jitter: Microscopic random shake (a human hand trembles)
How Do You Tune Your Smoothing Setting?
The best method is to record yourself (with a demo or OBS) and watch it back. With aimbot on, does your crosshair movement look natural? Any snapping? Is there a curve as it moves to the target? CSCodep's "Demo Playback" feature lets you watch your recent matches and fine-tune your settings.
