What is CS2 Anti-Aim? HvH Technique Detailed Explanation

How Does Anti-Aim Work?

Anti-aim works by distinguishing between the character model you see on your screen and the actual aiming angle transmitted to the server. In CS2's client-server architecture, damage calculation is made based on the angle the player last sent; but the visual model may stand in a completely different direction. In this way, while the opponent sees you with your back turned or in an awkward position, your real hitbox may be looking at a completely different angle. Since the Source 2 engine largely inherits the network synchronization logic from CS:GO, this technique remains functional today. CSCodep's anti-aim module automatically calculates and sends this angle difference at every network tick.

Desync and Server Angle

Desync is the delay time between the fake angle sent to the server and the actual angle that appears on the screen, and is usually produced by quickly switching between the two angles. In the CSCodep menu, the desync percentage can be adjusted gradually; While a high value makes it harder for the opponent to hit you, it can also affect your own shooting consistency. The tick speed of the server directly determines this balance: Since angle updates are processed less frequently on 64 tick MM servers, a large desync margin is safer. On 128 tick servers such as Faceit, the setting must be calibrated according to the server type, as excessive desync may make the work of resolver algorithms easier.

Yaw and Pitch Manipulation

Yaw represents the character's horizontal perspective; Pitch determines the vertical angle. Anti-aim systems work predominantly on the yaw axis because this is the main variable that determines the model rotation the opponent sees on their screen. CSCodep has different yaw modes such as local view, at targets and random; each creates a different movement pattern in the opponent's eye. Pitch manipulation, on the other hand, often comes into play in crouching illusions: the character may appear stooped or crouched on the opponent's screen while actually standing. Adjusting the two axes together, balanced, creates a target profile that is difficult to read in the HvH environment.

Difference Between Fake Duck and Legit Anti-Aim

Fake duck is an aggressive method of momentarily moving the character's hitbox to a crouching position while allowing the visual model to continue standing; That's why a bullet fired at head level is wasted. Legit anti-aim, on the other hand, applies a much more conservative desync; It is preferred in normal competitive matches as the aim is to gain a small hit share without being noticed. CSCodep offers these two approaches in separate profiles: in the legit profile, natural view and low desync are prioritized, while in the HvH profile, maximum desync and fake duck are active. Which profile you choose depends on the environment you play in.

Why Does It Provide Limited Benefit Outside HvH?

Since opponents do not use aimbots in normal MM, Premier or Faceit matches, the visual confusion created by anti-aim is limited; An experienced human player can still hit by making body calculations. The real power of anti-aim occurs on HvH servers where the opponent also uses aimbots and resolvers; because the resolver tries to lock on the false angle it calculated and the hit rate decreases. That's why CSCodep offers the anti-aim module along with aimbot and resolver in one package. Anti-aim alone does not provide a significant gain in a casual competitive match; It shows its true value against auto-aiming opponents.
