How Does CS2 Sound ESP Work?

What is Sound ESP?
Sound ESP is a feature in CS2 that turns enemy sounds (steps, shots, grenades, doors opening, etc.) into visual markers on the map or screen. It allows you to not only hear movements behind walls, but also position them with direction and distance information.
Technical Working Principle
CS2's audio engine produces a source position and decay curve for each sound. Sound ESP reads this data and draws 2D/3D radar-like dots or directional arrows on the player's screen. Thanks to sound source classification in CSCodep, a friend/foe filter can be applied.
Performance Impact
Since Sound ESP is based on pure sound analysis, GPU load is minimal. It typically consumes 0.2-0.5ms of additional CPU time and the FPS loss is almost imperceptible.
Usage Tips
Adjust Sound ESP according to your hearing distance (e.g. 30-50m). A radius that is too wide creates too many markers and can be distracting. It is ideal for footstep tracking, especially in quiet rounds.
