Does Cheating Affect FPS?

Yes, every cheat software creates some FPS effect. However, this effect varies greatly depending on the type of cheat, its architecture and active features. While a well-optimized internal cheat can cause a 2-5% FPS loss, a poorly coded external cheat can cause up to a 30% loss. In this article we analyze the situation with real benchmark data.

Internal vs External FPS Effect

Since internal cheats use the game's own rendering pipeline, there is no additional overlay cost. ESP artwork is inserted directly into the game's DirectX/Vulkan calls. External cheats, on the other hand, create a separate window (overlay) and constantly update this window — this means extra GPU workload.

Feature-Based Performance

Each feature has a separate cost. 3D Box ESP and Skeleton ESP calculate bone/position in every frame. Aimbot is CPU intensive but has minimal GPU impact. Sound ESP and Rear Threat Indicator are low-cost visual layers.

CSCodep Benchmark Results

Test system: RTX 3060, i5-12400F, 16GB RAM, 1080p. 5v5 match average on Dust2 map on 128 tick server:

Vanilla CS2: 285 FPS average
CSCodep (ESP only): 275 FPS average (-3.5%)
CSCodep (ESP + Aimbot + RCS): 268 FPS average (-6%)
CSCodep (all features enabled): 261 FPS average (-8.4%)

Result: 5-6% FPS loss in typical usage — even those using 240Hz monitors won't notice.

Optimization for Low System

To minimize cheating FPS impact on older/weaker systems: limit ESP render distance (50m instead of default 100m), use box ESP instead of skeletal ESP, opt for lightweight features like Sound ESP and Rear Threat Indicator, and keep aimbot FOV small.
