CS2 Inferno Map Guide: Banana Control and ESP

We explain ESP strategies and map control tips with practical examples for the Banana, Library, Balcony and Second Mid regions on the CS2 Inferno map.

General Structure of Inferno and the Importance of Banana

Inferno is one of CS2's oldest and most played maps; The Italian town is known for its themed narrow streets and clear corners. Banana is the main and almost only route that party T uses to reach site A. This narrowness makes Banana the region of the map with the most conflicts and the most use of molotovs and smoke; By holding here, the CT side can largely prevent T from entering A early.

ESP and Molotov Management in Banana

Banana's narrow structure almost necessitates the use of molotovs and incendiaries; CT usually delays T's progress by throwing a Molotov at the Banana entrance. With ESP on, seeing the number and exact position of enemies in Banana before throwing Molotovs allows you to use Nade at the right moment and at the right distance; This both prevents wastage of cash and prevents you from revealing positions unnecessarily. When combined with Grenade ESP, one can also foresee exactly where the smoke the opponent throws at Banana will cover.

Site A: Apartments and Second Mid Edition

Apart from Banana, site A can also be printed via Apartments; This route is less used but is effective for distracting the CT. Second Mid is a critical area where there is a struggle for control in the first seconds of the game, and the side that wins here has the option to put pressure on both A and Banana. Seeing the early movements in Second Mid with the radar on allows the player to make a much more informed decision on which side to head for at the beginning of the round.

Site B: Library, Balcony and Pit Control

Site B is a vertical conflict area with route T from Library and CT dominating the site from Balcony. A pit is a narrow area in a corner of site B where CT frequently lurks, and without ESP controlling this corner is largely a matter of luck. Knowing the enemy presence in the Pit and Balcony with ESP makes it clear which corner needs to be cleared during B site acquisitions and eliminates unnecessary peeks.

CSCodep Settings Specific to Inferno

Due to Inferno's narrow street structure, increasing the transparency setting in ESP based on the wall thickness of the enemy skeleton significantly improves visibility in areas such as Banana and Library. Keeping distance tags active in Radar makes quick rotation decisions between Second Mid and Banana easier. Creating a config profile specific to this map and narrowing the FOV circle slightly to suit Banana's tight angles will provide a more accurate and less noticeable experience than playing with the global settings.
