CS2 FOV Circle: Visualizing the Aimbot Area

We explain in detail how the CS2 FOV Circle feature limits the aimbot targeting area and how to aim more naturally with the correct radius and smooth setting.

What is FOV Circle?

FOV (Field of View) circle is a visual boundary defined so that the aimbot searches for enemies to target only within a certain radius of the screen. It is usually displayed on the screen as a translucent circle around the cursor, and enemies outside of this circle are completely ignored by the aimbot. Without this limitation, an aimbot can instantly lock onto an enemy in any corner of the screen, a behavior that is physically impossible for the human eye and hand, and is easily captured by behavioral systems such as VACNet.

Narrow FOV or Wide FOV? Finding the Correct Value

A very narrow FOV circle (say, five percent of the screen) will ensure that the aimbot only targets enemies close to where you're already aiming; This is the most natural-looking setting because the result looks like a time-lapse of a flick you're already making. A wide FOV reacts instantly to even enemies at the edge of the screen, which feels more powerful but causes noticeable aim snaps and is a questionable pattern for both viewers and anti-cheat.

Relationship between FOV Circle and Smooth Setting

FOV circle alone is not enough; It should be set together with the smooth value that controls the speed of locking on the target. An aimbot with a narrow FOV but operating at zero smooth will instantly lock onto any enemy that enters the circle as if they were teleported, which increases the risk of detection. In CSCodep's aimbot module, the FOV radius and the smooth value are calibrated together, so that even if the aim remains inside the circle, the transition to the target follows a curve similar to the human reaction.

Benefit of Visualizing FOV Circle on Screen

Leaving the FOV circle visible on screen allows you to live watch which area the aimbot is currently scanning. This is especially useful when calibrating the FOV to your own playing style; If it is too narrow, targets will be missed; if it is too wide, unnatural snaps will occur. Experienced users often prefer to use only calculation logic, keeping this circle open during training and hiding it in real competitive matches.

FOV Adjustment Logic According to Weapon

While a narrow FOV is sufficient for single-shot sniper rifles such as the AWP, in close-to-medium range combat with automatic weapons a slightly wider FOV may be necessary to avoid missing rapidly changing direction enemies. Weapon-specific FOV profiles can be defined from the CSCodep menu; In this way, finding a separate balance point for each weapon gives more natural and more effective results than playing with a general FOV value.
