CS2 Cheat Settings: Config Saving and Loading Guide

Where the CS2 cheat config file is stored, preserving settings with cloud sync, profiling according to game mode, import/export and synchronization problems.

Where and How is the Config File Stored?

In CSCodep, all settings—aim sensitivity, ESP color codes, triggerbot delay, keybindings—are written to a local encrypted file as soon as the menu is closed. This file is not plain text; The PX8.2 architecture performs an integrity check at every session startup and returns to factory settings if it detects corruption. Trying to edit the config file manually is not recommended, as a checksum mismatch may prevent the menu from opening. After changing the settings, just close the menu with F1, there is no need to press an extra "save" key. Since the encryption key depends on your license, not your hardware, using cloud sync instead of copying the file manually always gives more reliable results.

Cloud Sync: Never Lose Your Settings

Even if you format, reinstall the application, or move to a different computer, your settings will not be lost; Cloud Sync, depending on your license key, handles this automatically. In each PX8.2 session you log in, the system downloads the latest config version on the server, compares it with the local file, and applies whichever is more up-to-date. If the internet connection is down, the local copy is used and the difference is automatically synced when the connection is restored. In this way, each user maintains his/her own settings within the 100-slot system, even if the device changes. During synchronization, no data is associated with your Steam account, only your license key is referenced; This prevents your settings from getting mixed up, even on a shared computer.

Creating a Profile by Game Mode

In competitive matches, use a more conservative ESP distance and low aimbot FOV, while in deathmatch or wingman, more aggressive settings may be preferred. You can create a "New Profile" from the profile tab in the CSCodep menu and assign a separate name and key shortcut to each of them. Profile switching occurs instantly within the game and does not require a restart. For example, the F2 key can be assigned a "Competitive" profile, and F3 can be assigned a "Deathmatch" profile; This allows you to change the set of settings in seconds depending on the match type and eliminates the hassle of manual reconfiguration. The number of profiles is not limited; It is also possible to create map-based custom profiles (e.g. different FOV on sniper maps).

Sharing with Config Import/Export

When you want to share a config with your friend or use it in a different account, the export function produces an encrypted code string. This string is copied to the clipboard and when pasted into the import field, all settings - including color palette, aim curve, radar zoom level - are transferred exactly. The exported code does not contain user information or license keys, only setting values, so it can be shared safely. The length of the code varies depending on the number of settings and can be stored in any text file.

Common Config Problems

The most common problem is trying to import an old config from a different PX8.2 version; In this case, the system skips the incompatible fields and loads the rest. The second common mistake is that the same key is assigned in both the in-game and cheat menus, and you can see this conflict in the settings tab. If there is a cloud sync delay, you can trigger manual synchronization by turning the menu off and on. If the problem persists, sending the timestamp of your config file to the support team via Telegram (t.me/cscodep) will speed up the solution. Backing up the current config with export before resetting the settings prevents data loss during the troubleshooting process.
