What Is Aim Smoothing?
Aim smoothing is the algorithm an aimbot uses to ease the crosshair onto a target. Without smoothing, the aimbot snaps to the target instantly — a robotic, easily detectable movement. With smoothing, the crosshair travels toward the target along a human-like curve. The higher the value, the slower and more natural the movement.
Why Does It Matter?
Overwatch investigators look at crosshair movement first. A "snap" — the crosshair instantly jumping from one point to another — is the biggest red flag there is. Even pro players aim at a target with a curved motion; smoothing mimics that natural curve.
Types of Algorithms
Different smoothing algorithms produce different movement patterns:
